Bright Lights Bookstore Los Angeles, Ca

We recently visited a great bookstore in Inglewood, Ca. called Bright Lights Children's Bookstore. As you walk into this bookstore it feels like home. This building was built as a residence, then became a dentist office and now is a wonderful children’s bookstore.

This bookstore focuses on titles and authors that represent the African American and Caribbean cultures and peoples. There are hundreds of stories, picture books, non fiction, gift books, board books, chapter books, and unique titles that you won’t find anywhere else. Mr. McLinn, the owner is always available to answer questions, make suggestions and lend his expertise.

Special events such as storytelling, author visits and educational events occur throughout the year. Call to find out about upcoming events and to be included in the mailing list.

All the books here are 20% off for everyone. They are able to order any book in print and can honor purchase orders from educators.

There are two main areas in this store. The front area has picture books and story books for the youngest children. Make sure to check out the back of the store. You will find a history section and chapter books. There is a cozy reading area and play area with toys.
This bookstore is well worth the visit!

Thanks for the great tip! I have been looking for a bookstore for kids that focuses on African heritage. I can't wait to take my 3 year old for a visit.
