Chase Palm Park Carousel-Santa Barbara

This amazing carousel is located at Chase Palm Park in Santa Barbara. As you cross the threshold of the park, you will see a large and beautiful fountain. This is the focal point for this grand plaza entrance. Take a moment with your child, throw in a penny, and make a wish! You will soon hear the music of the next surprise the park holds. Past the fountain is a beautifully restored antique carousel.

This carousel was lovingly restored and placed here for all to enjoy. The beautifully painted wooden horses each move up and down and will delight any child. This carousel is one of only three produced by the Allen Herschell Company between 1915 and 1917. Each ride is only $2 and parents can stand next to their children for free.

Follow the garden path and it will lead you past a charming lagoon full of fish, turtles sunbathing on rocks, ducks, lizards and lily pads. Magnificent waterfalls create a tranquil sound and mask the noise of the street traffic. Children may even imagine that this garden is enchanted and full of fairies and magic. If they stand still, kids may spy a dragonfly skimming the water or butterflies searching for the right flower.

The beach is just across the street and each weekend there are vendors and artists that line the street to showcase their talents. Chase Palm Park Carousel is located at 233 E. Cabrillo Blvd. in Santa Barbara. Parking is available on the street and in the nearby lots. Fees for parking vary, some free parking is available
